Our mission

Our mission is to raise as much money as possible for the charity Action Against Cancer through gathering and auctioning guitars signed by 100 music legends.

The history of 100 Hitmakers

100 Hitmakers Against Cancer was started in the Spring of 2019 by Julian O’Dell, a Business Consultant from Milton Keynes. Julian has dedicated the past 5 years to hosting and running Catfest, an annual fundraiser festival named after his wife, Cat, who fought cancer for 12 years, sadly passed away on October 16th 2022. Catfest has proved to be a huge success with 2019’s event raising £52,607 for Action Against Cancer taking the total raised overall to over £160,000.

100 Hitmakers Against Cancer will form part of Catfest’s fundraising total in 2023.

Action Against Cancer

All profits from 100 Hitmakers Against Cancer go directly to Action Against Cancer. Action Against Cancer funds the development of cures for cancer at leading institutions such as Imperial College London and the University of Sussex.

The groundbreaking programmes that they fund focus on developing new diagnostics and treatments to improve the survival prospects and quality of life for millions of cancer sufferers worldwide. This work is led by world-renowned oncologist, Professor Justin Stebbing.
